The Quincy CHP office says, a 56-year-old man from Quincy was riding near Mud Lake in the Lakes Basin Area of the National Forest, when he collided with a rock, ejecting him from the vehicle.
The force of being thrown resulted in injuries that prevented him from seeking medical help with the help of his riding partner. Yet he was able to call his wife and 9-1-1 to request emergency help.
First responders from various agencies, including Plumas County Search and Rescue, Graeagle Fire Department, Careflight, Eastern Plumas Healthcare Ambulance, and the CHP, promptly responded to the area.
The Quincy man was extracted and swiftly transported to Renown Medical Center on a Careflight helicopter to receive necessary medical treatment for his injuries.
His current condition has not been shared.
