Quincy is looking towards the future and seeks your input. In a two-day workshop, you can share your vision for Quincy and help grow the town’s outdoor recreation economy, revitalize downtown, and increase outdoor and economic opportunities. The awarding of planning assistance through the federal Recreation Economy for Rural Communities Program sponsored by the EPA, Forest Service, and Northern Border Regional Commission has provided the opportunity for Quincy to undertake this effort. The Local Host Committee comprised of the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship, Feather River Tourism Association, Plumas County, Forest Service, Chamber of Commerce, the Toy Store, Plumas Arts, Gott Powersports, and Plumas Corporation, has been working on an action plan to strengthen Quincy’s outdoor recreation and revitalize the downtown area. Now your input is needed. Over the two days, you can help develop strategies for using Quincy’s assets and identify goals and develop actions to reach them. The workshops will be held on June 8th from 5 pm to 8 pm at the West End Theater in Downtown Quincy in an opening community meeting and will continue into June 9th from 9 am to 5 pm at the Fairgrounds for the small group planning sessions.
