Progress Made in Search for Missing Person Alex Hays from Redding

The Redding man, Alex Hays, missing since March 10th, believed to have gone into Plumas or neighboring counties, has not been found, but search and rescue teams have made progress this weekend toward his possible whereabouts.

The family has confirmed, the black Ford truck he was driving has been found by Cow Creek, East of Diddy Wells CalFire station off Highway 299. His truck was heavily damaged and almost unrecognizable as it was pulled from the now raging river from recent storms. Alex Hays Junior’ confirmed in a Facebook post that his father’s truck was found at the bottom of the ravine and appeared to have been there for some time.

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office and CHP are continuing search efforts to locate Alex. Teams from CalFire, Correctional Staff, and inmate Firefighters from Sugar Pine Camp have also joined the search canvassing the area where the truck went off the roadway.

The family continues to ask for prayers, and to contact the Shasta Sheriff’s office with any information.
