Power has been restored to nearly 900 Lassen Municipal Utility District customers following an early Tuesday morning outage that affected the Eagle Lake area.

The outage began at approximately 2:00 a.m. on July 7, leaving customers north of Merrillville Road without electricity, including those along Merrillville Road and in the communities of Spaulding, Stones, Bucks Lake, and Grasshopper Road.

LMUD crews responded immediately and spent the morning locating the cause of the outage. By 11:00 a.m., the utility reported crews had identified a downed power line in a remote area as the source of the outage. Because of the line’s difficult location, repairs were expected to take six to seven hours.

However, crews completed repairs ahead of schedule. At approximately 1:15 p.m., LMUD announced the damaged line had been repaired and all affected customers should have their power restored.

The utility asks anyone who is still without electricity to contact its office at 530-257-4174 to report the outage.
