Update:
Lassen Sheriff’s deputies and Susanville CHP were led on a high-speed chase down US 395 that ended in a fiery crash, setting a field on fire in Doyle yesterday afternoon.
Around 3:30, sirens blared as the chase ensued. It is understood that two suspects have been apprehended after fleeing on foot following the collision. The fire visible from the highway was in difficult-to-access terrain. However, Doyle Fire Protection District, Sierra Army Depot, Milford Fire, BLM, and CALFIRE response crews were able to knock down the flames with the help of a downpour from a passing thunderstorm.
