The Plumas County Board of Supervisors will consider passing a resolution to officially approve agreements between the County and employee groups in the Sheriff’s Department.

On Tuesday, October 10th, the board will convene at 10 am in the Quincy Courthouse, with the discussion scheduled for the latter half of the agenda under item F for Human Resources. If approved, the decision will cost the county approximately $1.2 million from its general funds, involving increased expenses related to salaries, benefits, or other costs associated with the agreements.

Sheriff Todd Johns has urged the board to reach an agreement for his employees, emphasizing the urgency of the matter as his department is facing dwindling staff, which he attributes to being one of the lowest-paid sheriff’s offices in the state.

Following discussions and public comments, there will be a formal vote for approval.
