Plumas Sheriff’s Follow Lead on Portola Burglary

Plumas County Sheriff’s Office officials have made significant progress in pursuing the wanted suspect involved in the burglary in Portola, thanks to the assistance provided by the community.

According to Information Officer Deputy Chandler Peay, the department expresses its sincere gratitude for the “vital information received from the community” regarding the person of interest. The individual highlighted by the public’s cooperation is currently under investigation. To maintain the integrity of ongoing inquiries, the person’s identity has not yet been disclosed.

Deputy Peay further confirms that the department is proactively taking steps to establish communication with this person of interest, who will subsequently be summoned for questioning as part of the investigative process.

The incident took place shortly before midnight on Friday, August 4th, at the KS Market, situated at the intersection of E. Sierra Ave and Gulling in Portola. Utilizing security camera footage, images of the individual were disseminated across social media platforms, soliciting assistance from the community in identifying the individual. As Deputy Peay pointed out, these collaborative efforts have yielded two promising leads, with comprehensive investigations currently underway.
