Over 60,000 dollars was raised by the second annual Rib cook-off held at the Plumas Pines Resort. This year funds were being raised to support Seneca’s new hospital build. The 60,000 will take a small chunk out of the 50 million needed by 2030 for the build or the Lake Almanor area will have to see the critical care hospital go.

Nine rib vendors participated in the competition. Awards went to Judge’s Choice, first, second and third. There was also a people’s choice award for 1, 2nd, and 3rd place. Susan Bryner, Executive Director of the Almanor Foundation said “This fundraiser is one of the reasons The Foundation was founded,” to support the growth, economic development, and quality of life for the community. With monies raised for ‘back-the-build, it will bring the reality of the new hospital that much closer.”

The rib cook-off was first launched at the Plumas pines resort last year to raise funds to help the recovery of those who suffered from the devastating losses from the Dixie Fire.
