Plumas NF Undertakes Massive Trail Restoration Project

Trail recovery from recent wildfires begins in the Plumas National Forest this weekend.

A forest closure order has gone into effect along the Feather Falls Recreation Trail to replace damaged bridges and lookout platforms destroyed in the 2020 North Complex fire.

Due to the heavy machinery and the use of a helicopter to place the structure, forest officials will not allow the public to enter the area for safety precautions.

Operations began this weekend as 4 bridges were aerially lifted into place along the trail. Over the next few weeks, the closure will remain in place as contractors complete the stabilization of the new structures.

You are asked to remain out of the area as the Plumas National Forests works to complete this monumental trail recovery for the community.
