The recent wet weather in the National Forest has allowed firefighters to resume burning activities.
On the Beckwourth Ranger District, crews plan to burn 7 acres of piles in Lakes Basin, with test fires already initiated yesterday. Due to winds, smoke will be dispersed throughout the project area.
On the Mount Hough Ranger District, around 26 acres of piles near Bucks Lake will be burned near cabins and businesses starting today.
Smoke may be visible but should not have significant long-term impacts on your nearby communities.
Feather River Ranger District and Mount Hough Ranger District are also planning pile-burning operations in the coming days, with monitoring for weather conditions.
