A California Historic gold rush event sponsored by State Park and Pespa will feature various historical activities, gold panning, wagon rides, blacksmith demonstrations, a children’s archeological dig, and woodworking demonstrations.
Tours will be available to see the Moriarity family cabin and photo ops of your family dressed in the 1800 era. The museum will be open with artifacts and photos for all to see how life was for gold-panning minors as well as education on how they kept the animals alive during climate changes. You can also sign up for a guided hiking tour to the original gold discovery site.
There will be games and prizes along with a free pancake breakfast provided by The Rotary followed by the Graeagle Lions Club hosting a BBQ lunch.
The event will be held July 15th and 16th at the Eureka Peak in Johnsville from 10 am to 3 pm.
