Plumas District Hospital (PDH) faces a challenging decision. The hospital is in need of meeting new California earthquake standards that will require the construction of a new facility already expected to cost upwards of 50 million dollars, yet the need for a skilled nursing facility is also on the table at a cost of 30 million dollars. This afternoon PDH will hold a public meeting to give you and the surrounding community an opportunity to help in that decision process through a presentation on the proposed construction of the skilled nursing facility. Some funding is coming from the USDA rural development grant, for which the district is currently applying for. The meeting will begin today at 4pm virtually through Zoom. For more information on how to attend the meeting, you can call Sierra Blanton-Rader at (530) 283-7127 .
