The groundbreaking ceremony, held today at 11 am will be at the construction site of the new facility situated just opposite Plumas District Hospital on Bucks Lake Rd. in Quincy. The event marks the start of construction for the highly anticipated skilled nursing facility, designed to address the urgent needs of the local community. Dale Morgan, PDH Marketing Manager, highlighted its role as a cutting-edge center for compassionate care, enhancing patient access to essential medical services. This new facility was conceived to address the challenges families faced when seeking skilled nursing care, given the distance to the nearest facility, which often led to a decline in patients’ quality of life. The new facility will be pivotal in meeting the community’s long-term care needs, ensuring specialized and compassionate treatment. The project owes its success to the collective contributions of various stakeholders who united their vision for the facility’s positive impact on the community.Today’s event will involve key figures such as hospital leadership, project managers, the Plumas Health Care Foundation, medical professionals, the United States Department of Agriculture, S+B James Construction, HMC Architects, and more. JoDee Read, PDH Chief Executive Officer, expressed delight at witnessing the groundbreaking, emphasizing that the project symbolizes collaboration between the community and committed partners. The involvement of the Plumas Health Care Foundation underscores their enduring support throughout construction and beyond. The building will consist of a facility with a 22,000 sq foot footprint on just over 3 acres, accommodating 36 beds.To learn more about Plumas District Hospital, you can visit pdh.org.
