Plumas County Sheriffs’ Office is recognized by District Attorney David Hollister for the hard work the Department has done while understaffed and responding to the attempted murder case on Sunday, June 18th, in Quincy over a busy Holiday weekend.
The Board of Supervisors approved the pay increases of the Sheriffs Department in the May 9th meeting; however, the Department has remained understaffed in officers and Dispatch, stretching the workload to the existing employees and Sheriff Todd. The Sheriff’s office responded to a frantic call on Sunday from a male.
Officers arrived on the scene and saw the 20-year-old victim, who suffered from machete wounds, great bodily injury, Dismembered fingers, severe lacerations to the head, and a punctured lung. Officers arrested 20-year-old Cole Adam of Quincy on wilful deliberate attempted murder, aggravated mayhem, and assault with a deadly weapon. Adam was set to a 500,000 bail and,
if convicted, will be charged with life in prison.
