Plumas County Sheriff’s Office Introduces Next-Generation Emergency Alert/Management System (GEMS) to Enhance Public Safety

A new Next-Generation Emergency Alert/Management System, known as (GEMS), will aim to Enhance Public Safety in Plumas County. The Sheriff’s Office will conduct a test at the month’s end, urging community members to register for GEMS and verify their accounts.

This advanced system supersedes the outdated Code Red, offering multi-channel alerts through text, email, calls, and social media, customizable notifications, community updates, and a user-friendly mobile app. Even if you were previously on Code Red, it’s strongly advised to create a GEMS account and ensure your information is up-to-date. GEMS greatly improves emergency communication, facilitating efficient transmission of vital information during emergencies, disasters, public safety incidents, and critical situations.

During registration, customize your alert preferences and provide your home address for location-specific messages. Rest assured, your data is used solely for emergency and county communication, not shared or sold.

On September 20, 2023, Plumas County residents are encouraged to participate in a system test. Registration is swift at plumasalerts.genasys.com/portal/en. For assistance, email [email protected] with your details.
