PCSO Investigates Improvised Explosive Found in Portola

On Sunday, May 21st, around 12:58, the Plumas County Sheriff’s office received a call regarding what was suspected to be an explosive device found at the 500 block east of Sierra Avenue near the disc golf course.

The Portola Sheriff’s Office and the Butte County Inter-Agency Bomb Squad responded to the scene and located the device. The Highly trained bomb team thoroughly assessed the bomb and safely neutralized the explosive device. Thanks to the fast response from the public, The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office, and The Butte County Inter-Agency Bomb Squad, no one was harmed.
