Plumas County Search and Rescue Saves Kayaker After Cold Water Swim at Frenchman Lake

Plumas County Search and Rescue were called At approximately 1:30 on Monday, SAR was paged for a kayaker who fell out of his boat in Frenchman Lake and was forced to swim a long distance in very cold water to the shore on the east side of the lake, about a mile from the nearest road.
A nearby USFS crew in cooperation with Beckworth Peak Fire was able to locate the paddler from a trail near the shore line. USFS personnel escorted the patient and transported him back to his vehicle with no medical attention needed. We are grateful for the agencies that cooperated in this rescue.
