Update 11/29/25, 8:15 p.m.:
William Farwell was located deceased in eastern Plumas County. Preliminary information indicates the incident was traffic-related. The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office is conducting the coroner’s investigation, and the California Highway Patrol is handling the crash investigation.
November 29th, Plumas County Search and Rescue was dispatched for the recovery of a deceased individual located off Frenchman Lake Road, north of Chilcoot. The subject, who had previously been reported missing out of the Reno area, appeared to have been involved in a traffic-related incident and was found down an embankment.
The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol are handling the ongoing investigation.
