The Plumas County Fire Chiefs Association is undertaking a countywide visioning process to define its future direction. Launched in June, this initiative focuses on four key goals:

  • Communication: Ensuring clear, immediate communication among members and outreach to nonmembers
  • Organizational Clarity: Aligning meetings and goals with the association’s mission, vision, and values
  • Relevance: Strengthening relationships with stakeholders including the Board of Supervisors, the Local Agency Formation Commission, and smaller fire departments
  • Leadership Training: Offering training programs to support local fire service leaders

The visioning process will continue through quarterly meetings over the next year, involving the active membership of 12 local fire chiefs. These chiefs represent a range of departments, from small volunteer groups to larger combination paid/volunteer agencies, all committed to protecting life, property, and natural resources in Plumas County. Through collaboration, mutual aid agreements, fire prevention programs, public education, joint trainings, and shared resources, the association ensures effective support and coordination across the county’s fire services.
