The Plumas County Child Abuse Prevention Council announces that the Plumas County Board of Supervisors adopted a proclamation March 17 declaring April Child Abuse Prevention Month in the county.
Lights at the courthouse in Quincy will shine blue for the month of April and blue pinwheels will be displayed across town in observance of Child Abuse Prevention Month.
The month of April is annually designated by the United States Congress as National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
The five protective factors that support healthy child development and reduce the likelihood and child abuse and neglect are

- Knowledge of child development
- Social and emotional competence of children
- Concrete supports
