Plumas Bank has donated $5,000 to Plumas Rural Services, Inc. to help replace a wheelchair-accessible van used by the nonprofit’s ALIVE program for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
The donation was presented on Friday, July 30, by Rachelle Ramelli, Plumas Bank vice president, Portola business advisor and branch manager, to PRS Executive Director Paula Johnston and Program Services Manager Bob Battistoni.
According to Plumas Rural Services, the funding will go toward the purchase of a new accessible van for the ALIVE program. The previous vehicle was destroyed in December 2025 after it was struck by a falling tree branch.
The van is used to transport ALIVE participants to community activities, services, and other opportunities that support independence and community involvement. Program officials say replacing the vehicle is important to ensuring clients can continue accessing those resources.
Plumas Rural Services thanked Plumas Bank for its long-standing support of both the organization and the ALIVE program, noting the bank has partnered with the nonprofit for decades.
The organization is continuing to seek additional community support to help fund the replacement vehicle and is accepting donations from individuals and businesses interested in contributing to the effort.
