The search for missing skier, Rory Angelotta, is ongoing today at the Northstar Ski Resort. Last night, searchers continued their efforts until after 9 p.m. They were following up on a tip of fresh tracks in a remote area adjacent to the mountain. Unfortunately, it was discovered the tracks belonged to a bear. Weather conditions continue to create challenges for searchers with more snow expected today.

The search for Rory Angelotta continues today at Northstar California Ski Resort.
Nevada Air National Guard has deployed a Blackhawk to assist in the search efforts for Rory. The helicopter is outfitted with FLIR (forward looking infrared) capabilities to help searchers during these extreme weather conditions. We have also deployed additional resources to include Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue, Placer County Search and Rescue, Nevada County Search and Rescue, Butte County Search and Rescue, Bay Area Mountain Rescue, Tahoe Backcountry Ski Patrol, and Northstar California Ski Patrol.
