Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) generously donates a sno-cat to Plumas County Search and Rescue. This contribution will significantly enhance the team’s operational capabilities, particularly in the region’s treacherous snowy terrain.

The search and rescue team expressed their gratitude to PG&E for the gift. Mike Grant, the SAR coordinator, said, “Obtaining such a specialized piece of equipment can be costly and often beyond the reach of many organizations, so the team is incredibly fortunate to receive this donation from PG&E. Their support and insight in recognizing the needs of the local search and rescue team and taking action to fulfill those needs demonstrate a commendable commitment to the community’s safety and well-being.

Adding the snowcat will significantly impact the team’s ability to carry out their crucial work of assisting those in distress. Joe Wilson, regional vice president for PG&E’s North Valley & Sierra Region, shared his enthusiasm about the donation. He added that the Sno-Cat is an essential tool for SAR as it provides access to rugged terrain and can operate when the weather doesn’t allow helicopters to fly.
