The Petrilla Fire started early Wednesday afternoon and quickly spread in the Pleasant Valley area. Around 350 acres were burned before progress was stopped that evening. Containment by the end of day Wednesday was 35%. Crews remain on the scene keeping an eye out for hot spots and mopping up.

All evacuations have since been lifted.

Aircrews bombarded the countryside with water drops and fire retardants as fire crews methodically worked the fire lines, spraying the ground until they were able to stop the spread. Air support helped get them to that point.

All that hard work seems to have paid off. Truckee Meadows Fire says no structures were destroyed. Those who have homes in the areas where there were voluntary evacuations like Vallet still had homes to go back to Wednesday night.
