Peak Fire Update 25 Percent Contained with Evacuation Orders Lifted

Incident Update 8/1/25 10:00am The 1-4 (Peak) Fire is now 25% contained and estimated at 259 acres. Crews worked overnight constructing containment lines and securing the perimeter. Today, aircraft and ground crews will continue mop-up efforts to further secure the fire area.  Power has been restored to the area by LMUD.  The evacuation order has been lifted by the Sheriff’s Department. We kindly ask the public to stay clear of the area to allow fire crews and safety personnel full access to continue their work. Thank you to all responding crews and support agencies for your continued hard work and coordination.

Incident Update 7/31/25 10:00pm The fire is currently at approximately 244 acres and is 15% contained. Fire crews will continue working through the night and into tomorrow to contain the incident.

Incident Update 7/31/25 6:15pm The fire is currently at approximately 125 acres, with resources on scene from multiple agencies. Fire retardant has been dropped across the head of the fire, and crews are making good progress on other parts of the fire.  LMUD has shut off power to Dirt Paiute.  Evacuation orders and warnings are currently in effect. CAL FIRE Lassen-Modoc Unit is responding to a vegetation fire in the Ranch Park area near Paiute Lane in Susanville. The fire is approximately half an acre in size. Resources are currently arriving on scene. Please avoid the area and allow emergency crews to work safely. Updates will follow as more information becomes available.
