A half acre vegetation fire with a slow rate of spread was reported Monday evening above Cameron Way and near Covey Court in Susanville. The fire was reported to be burning in grass and timber with the possibility of 1 structure threatened. A quick response by local fire resources kept the blaze at ½ acre with forward progress stopped just after 7pm. The fire was declared 100% contained by the National Interagency Fire Center at just after 9pm. No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
