The Plumas County Fire Safe Council is partnering with Plumas District Hospital in a community wildfire protection project. They are asking for your help in creating a defensible space around the hospital to make your local hospital safer from wildfire. Starting today the council has set up a mobile trailer filled with all the tools you would need to create a defensible space. The volunteer event is today May 4, from noon – 5pm at Plumas District Hospital Dentist Offices, Across the street from the Hospital. You are asked to bring sturdy shoes, wear a long sleeve shirt and long pants, sunglasses or eye protection. Parking will be at the Mormon Church on Bellamy Lane. More information on the event can be found at plumasfiresafe.org
