CALFIRE Lassen Modoc Unit says there have been over 640 lightning strikes in the Northern Region of California within the last 24 hours. Over 100 of those strikes have been within the CAL FIRE Lassen-Modoc Unit coverage area causing four confirmed fires. Those include the Pittville area, known as the 3-8 Fire, which is at 14 acres with 5% containment yet forward spread has been stopped as of 11 am. A single tree fire was contained Northwest of Bieber, to the Southeast of Bieber a 10×20 fire has been contained and a quarter acre fire in the Hat Creek Rim in the Alcohol Jack Drainage is currently receiving suppression from air and ground resources.
