A new Miss Lassen County has been crowned at last night’s Miss Lassen County Pageant. The Top gun themed event held at the fairgrounds grandstand was well attended. Performances featured many of the iconic songs from the movie franchise and highlighted the talents of all the county performers from intermediate dance groups to advanced from J&J, Joann’s studio of Dance, and Dance Elevation among a few. The Miss Lassen Contestants were challenged by a communications speech, followed by talents that included dance routines, pianists, singing, speech, a sign language interpretation of a country song, and accordion performance. The ladies then had to answer an impromptu question, and display their poise and grace in their glittering gowns. 11 accomplished ladies competed with one taking home the crown succeeded by 2021 Miss Lassen County Alliyah Yerington. The winner, Olivia Ormachea, will receive a 1000-dollar scholarship and represent the county at many events throughout the year. Her supporting court is Miss Rebecca Kirklan who took home 2nd runner-up, and Sadie Meuller who was crowned as 1st runner-up for Miss Lassen. Congrats to all the young ladies who competed and to this year’s 2022 Miss Lassen County Miss Olivia who said she is ready to take on her new role and is excited to serve her county.
