From the Field Update: a new dog waste collection station has been installed at Olsen Barn Meadow! Thank you to Rachael Long, a land trust supporter who donated it, and Olah Construction, who volunteered to set the steel pipe and install the unit.
Many visitors bring their dogs to the property, and the intention is to provide dog walkers with bags to properly dispose of dog waste and guidance on the importance of cleaning up after their pet. Other volunteers, including Loretta McCalmont, have generously committed to inspecting and disposing of the waste that is placed into the container. Our stewardship team will also support the maintenance of this new station. Thank you to all who made this possible!
The Olsen Barn Meadow is FRLT’s 107-acre public nature preserve in Chester. For directions and more info, visit frlt.org/olsen-barn-meadow.
