More Winter Storms to Impact the Area Starting Tuesday

A winter weather advisory moves into the area tomorrow late afternoon with new snowfall totals of 2 to 4 inches, with 4 to 8 inches expected west of highway 395. Local snowfall totals can be up to a foot for areas above 5500 feet. Today and the first half of tomorrow will be the best travel window for you if you plan to leave the area for Christmas. Heavy snow over the passes is expected by Tuesday evening. Then by Wednesday afternoon a winter weather watch goes into place and weather conditions will worsen for any travel plans. New snowfall totals with this storm is expected to be around 10 to 20 inches, and even 2 to 5 feet possible west of 395 above 5000 feet.

Take the time today and tomorrow to wrap up that holiday shopping as well and fuel those vehicles and generators if you will be staying in town. Clear gutters and secure those holiday decorations as well. Snow is likely over the next six days.
