Through renovations made possible by the Bipartisan infrastructure law, the Modoc National Forest has opened the Patterson Guard station to overnight rentals. The station was built in 1921 as the Patterson Mill Ranger Station, serving the Modoc National forest as a summer location for work in the Southern Warner mountains. It was then changed into a guard station by firefighters until 1981. With the funding through the legislature, renovations were completed just last year. You can now enjoy a part of history for your next vacation; reservations begin July 14th to October 30th.
You can book your stay by visiting http://rec.gov/camping/campgrounds/10229798
The east zone recreation crew, alongside the forest’s engineering department, will use this initial year to learn about visitors’ stays at the station and what recreational opportunities it can provide.
