Modoc High School has received a $10,000 grant from the Bill Belichick Foundation to enhance its baseball field. The funding will address critical needs such as lighting upgrades, fencing repairs, and general field maintenance.
Kevin Marcussen played a pivotal role in securing the grant, and Principal Kristen Budmark commended his efforts, saying, “Well done, Kevin.” The grant targets long-standing issues like inadequate lighting and damaged fencing, particularly the backstop, aiming to improve safety and the experience for both student athletes and community spectators.
The school’s application highlighted the necessity of these upgrades to ensure the team’s continued success and provide a safe, high-quality baseball experience for the community. Linda Holliday, president of the Bill Belichick Foundation, expressed her support in the acceptance letter, praising the school for embodying the foundation’s mission of promoting sportsmanship, coaching, team building, and excellence.
School officials are now working on the next steps for implementing these improvements, though a specific timeline has yet to be determined. The Bill Belichick Foundation regularly provides grants to schools and community organizations across the country to support youth athletics and community involvement.
