Victoria Pearl Rollison, 24, was struck and killed by a vehicle Feb. 23 while walking in the area of State Route 70 and Mill Creek Road in East Quincy. Following a preliminary investigation, Lorrie Deann Bennett, 62, of Quincy, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Bennett subsequently posted bail of $100,000 and was assigned a court date of March 20 by staff at the Plumas County jail.
The investigation concerning the death of Rollison is ongoing and will not be concluded by March 20, said Plumas County District Attorney David Hollister. Once the investigation is complete, the case will be submitted to his office for review, he said. Should criminal charges be filed, a court date will be set at that time.
The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office, Quincy office of the California Highway Patrol and the California Highway Patrol Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team are all participating with the DA’s office in the ongoing investigation, Hollister said.
