Lassen Municipal Utility District has made a final decision on the Hayden Hill line and will plan for its removal. In a letter from General Manager Pat Holly to County Officials, he says the removal of the line was detailed in the mines reclamation plan from nearly 3 decades ago and no Environmental Impact Report will need to be performed to move forward with this decision. LMUD had recently considered leaving the line in place, reenergizing it, and then transferring it to Surprise Valley Electric, yet as said in the letter that is no longer a viable option. Plans for the removal will begin on October 3rd of this year.
