Lightning Strikes Cause Power Outages in Plumas & Lassen Counties

Pacific Gas and Electric Co. reports that late morning lightning strikes caused power outages in Plumas & Lassen Counties Tuesday, Aug. 26. PG&E also restored power to the transmission line that serves LMUD.  As of 5 p.m., power was restored across the county to all but 25 customers in Quincy.

PG&E had recently restored power from Monday night’s lightning strikes. As the utility responded and worked to restore power, electric transmission lines were struck by lightning. As of Tuesday afternoon, about 10,000 customers were without power in Plumas County.
