On March 15, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in front of Riverside Park in Susanville, driven by 33-year-old Amy Marie Clapper of Westwood. Her passenger was identified as 28-year-old Beauregard Joseph Beavers, also of Westwood.
When running Beavers’ information, deputies discovered he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. A Deputy began issuing Clapper a citation for traffic violations while K9 “Hank” began a free air sniff around the vehicle.
“Hank” detected narcotics near the driver’s side, giving the Deputies probable cause to search the vehicle. During the search, Deputies discovered several plastic baggies containing various amounts of methamphetamine, a digital scale, many unused plastic baggies, and 33 Adderall pills.
Clapper and Beavers were arrested and charged with possession, intent to sell, transporting a controlled substance, and possession of paraphernalia.
During a search of Clapper, Deputies also found over $1500 in cash and additional methamphetamine, believed to be proceeds from narcotics sales. The money was seized, and Asset Forfeiture proceedings are pending.
Beavers was also found with a glass smoking pipe.
In total, deputies seized about ¼ lb of meth.
