Lassen Community College Nursing achieved a major milestone as its RN Feasibility Study received unanimous approval from the Board of Registered Nursing, taking the program another step closer to launching. The accomplishment comes after months of preparation and the support of the LCC team and community partners.
The approval of the feasibility study holds significant promise for LCC’s community, future nurses, and returning LVNs. This study is another step toward welcoming the Registered Nurse program to the college. The program reached its first milestone with a letter of intent in June of 2021, with approval by the chancellor’s office this January. In the coming weeks, the department will provide further details on the next steps in the process. The hope is to have a program start date in the fall or the following spring in 2024.
The department thanked the LCC team, community partners, and healthcare professionals, including Dean Williams and President Camacho, for their encouragement and support. Additionally, the nursing faculty, in particular, received special recognition for their hard work and unwavering support throughout the feasibility study.
The future appears promising for LCC Nursing as the department embarks on this new journey with the community.
