The Lassen Community College baseball team is mourning the loss of one of its own as the new year begins.
At only 18 years old Theo Gibbs, a freshman catcher hailing from Canada passed away suddenly. According to the GoFundMe account set up to help his family with funeral expenses, Theo unexpectedly passed on December 30th after experiencing some health issues this fall. His LCC Baseball coach Frank Avilla, said about his passing, “Although our time was brief, Theo’s smile and energy was infectious.” The Fundraising campaign has helped his family surpass a 25,000 dollar goal and raised over 36,000 in one day.
