Lassen County board of supervisors will have a less controversial board meeting this week. The board will hear a presentation from the Sheriff’s office on the Segregated housing unit renovation, detailing what has been completed on the building to accommodate new law regarding inmate out of cell time as well as areas of the jail that were in need of improvement. A presentation from the Golden State Natural Resources on a Forest Resiliency Project will be delivered, this in regards to the organizations goal to build a a processing facility within the Modoc Plateau to processing excess forest vegetation into pelletized fuel sources for renewable energy. The Supervisors will also approve to extend a contract with CA Assoc of Environmental Health Administrators for an additional year with a fee increase of 70K dollars. This contract is for the coverage of two positions for environmental health specialists that remain vacant. Additionally planning and building services are recommending to the board to revise the county code regarding residential use buildings. The meeting is set for Tuesday at 9am at the Board of Supervisor Chambers at 707 Nevada Street.
