Lassen Volcanic Ntl Park Opens Highway to Non-Motorized Traffic

A recently cleared 13-mile section of the Lassen Volcanic Highway is currently open for bicyclists and hikers

If you’re looking for a unique and serene outdoor experience, now is the perfect time to bike or hike a 13-mile stretch of the Lassen Volcanic Highway, free from vehicle traffic.

Although vehicles can travel partially into the park, this specific stretch remains closed to car traffic, making it ideal if you’re on foot or two wheels.

Remember to bring plenty of water, snacks, and appropriate gear for changing weather conditions. As always be mindful of the park’s guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
