Lassen Supervisors Hold Public Hearing

The Lassen Board of Supervisors meets Tuesday with a full agenda. The board will hold a public hearing to apply for 600,000 dollars in funding from the state’s housing and community development department for a 5 year Plan for a Permanent Local Housing Program. The board unanimously approved the application in October though some documentation was left out. Additionally, with the arrival of an early snow season, the supervisors will hear from the PUBLIC WORKS department with a report on current resources for snow removal for the year.

The supervisors have also invited the LASSEN FIRE SAFE COUNCIL, under new leadership, to present their efforts and current projects.

And in the roads department, there is trouble on one of the county bridges. Supports in the Alexander street bridge, also known as a whitehead slough, have significant decay damage. The dept is recommending lowering the load weight limits on the bridge as a temporary solution.

The supervisors meet tomorrow at 9 am at their chambers on Nevada street in Susanville. You can view the agenda at lassencounty.org.
