Lassen National Park Closes Highway due to New Snowfall

The Lassen National Park Highway is temporarily closed after receiving a light dusting of snow overnight with the passing storm.  The Park Service says the roadway is closed from the Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center and Summit Lake.  Yet, you can still access the park’s main entrances.  The road will remain closed to through traffic until the storm passes and it is safe for travel. Check the Alerts and Conditions page for road status updates on the park service’s website.

The Shasta Avalanche Center reported 4 inches of new snow at the Old Ski Bowl as well. the storm is expected to last through Wednesday.

 

 

8 am: The Lassen National Park Highway is temporarily closed due to expected snow accumulation with the current storm system. The Park Service says you can still access the park’s main entrances.
