The Lassen MUD board of directors voted unanimously at the March 31st board meeting to return nearly $830,000 to customers through two one-time bill credits. The funds for these credits come from the district’s 2025 carbon credit allowances through the state of California’s Cap and Invest program.
“LMUD is proud to return these funds directly to our customers,” said LMUD Board Treasurer, Charity Moore, “Our board is committed to responsible stewardship, and when there’s an opportunity to give back to the community we serve, we believe it’s the right thing to do.”
Customers will receive two bill credits of $39 each, once in August 2026 and again in November 2026. The credits will appear as a line item on bills. We will keep you informed through bill inserts, social media posts, Lassen Ruralite, and our website.
