Following the resignation of former GM Pat Holley on July 5th, amid claims of age discrimination, the utility settled into an agreement to provide his over 200,000 dollar salary for an 18-month period to prevent further litigation. The Board has since been on the search for a new GM, using Business Manager Nick Dominguez and Electric Operations Manager Cort Cortez in the interim to share the responsibilities.
In efforts to seek qualified candidates for the role, the board approved to use the professional recruitment services. The reportable action from yesterday’s closed session was approved dates for a series of special board meetings to continue the process of recruiting a General Manager for the District. Those dates have been set as October 24th and November 28th at 1 p.m. and December 14th and 15th at 8:30 a.m.
The board will hold its next regular monthly meeting, however, on the third Tuesday of the month, September 26th, at 5:30 pm.
