Lassen County continues to fill the job market despite a high unemployment rate across the nation. Alliance for Workforce Development had a successful job fair this fall and has aided the county in filling many vacant positions as well as building job seekers skills and resumes. Alliance for Workforce Development reported to the Board of Supervisors in October with a countywide unemployment rate of 5.6%, down from 8.3% last year. In just the last few months the unemployment rate dropped even lower for the county dipping down to 3.8%.
