Calrecycle will present to the Lassen County Board of Supervisors on Senate bill 1383 regarding new organic waste collection requirements. The bill aims to reduce the environmental impacts caused by the release of methane emissions from organic materials decomposing in landfills, as well as to increase statewide edible food recovery efforts. The supervisors will also listen to a presentation by the CA Dept of Fish and wildlife regarding the Interim Wolf Livestock Loss Compensation Grant Program. The Supervisors brought this item to the agenda from a prior meeting in which the supervisors felt not enough producer input was included when the CDFW drafted the grant program. The supervisors will meet at 9am tomorrow with both items set to start at 10 and 10:30 at the supervisor’s chambers on Nevada street in Susanville.
