Lassen County Supervisors Tom Hammond and Jeff Hemphill are holding town hall meetings to give you details on the proposed boundary changes to their districts that will be in effect for the next 10 years. The district boundaries are redrawn every decade based on the results of the U.S. Census.
Both supervisors have expressed concerns about the proposed boundary changes up for approval by the Lassen County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, Dec. 14. The Lassen clerk recorder’s office has recommended proposed map 3 to the board that moves parts of the Honey Lake area and Janesville area, between honey View Ln and County Road A3 out of District 3 and into District 5.
If a map is not submitted to the state by December 15th Lassen county’s district lines lie in the hands of the courts.
Supervisor Hammond will host a Town Hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8 at the Milford Community Center. He plans to host other meetings in Doyle and Herlong.
Hemphill will host a Town Hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9 at the Janesville Fire Hall.
