Offenders can have credits reduced based on good behavior that can take time off their sentences. This current emergency regulation allows serious or violent offenders to only serve 1/3 of their sentence. CDCR set this order in place without public input as required by law. The DAs injunction places a temporary hold on the emergency regulation until a hearing is held to validate the merits of the petition. Full announcement can be read here .
