On March 25, 2025, the Board of Supervisors introduced and waived the first reading of the ordinance amending Section 12.27.300 (Fire Safety regulations) of Chapter 12.27 (Limited Density Owner-Built Rural Dwellings) of the Lassen County Code. The amendment will remove the requirement to install fire sprinklers within all residential structures over two thousand square feet, constructed under Chapter 12.27 of Lassen County Code, and directed staff to publish notice of a public hearing to be conducted on April 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. to waive the second reading and consider adoption of the proposed ordinance.

All interested persons and agencies are invited to attend the meeting and be heard, or to submit comments to the Board of Supervisors prior to the hearing, c/o Department of Planning and Building Services, 707 Nevada Street, Suite 5, Susanville, California 96130. A complete copy of the proposed ordinance to affect the ordinance amendment will be available for public review no later than five days prior to the Board of Supervisors’ public hearing in the office of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors.
